Career Goals

I want to find long term employment in an industry that values my skills as a communicator. My previous work experience has dovetailed with my studies in developing my skills surrounding building relationships. I believe in this not only at an interpersonal level but at an organizational level. Being a good communicator and someone who can build and maintain good working relationships with others is the most personally satisfying and practically rewarding ability I can think of. My goal is to find a workplace that shares that attitude.

Work Experience

Teaching Associate; CSU Sacramento, Sacramento, CA 2007-2010
I was responsible for developing curriculum related to argumentation, critical thinking, and communications in general. I delivered material to students, developed assessment tools and maintained all records and paperwork for each student. This also required a graduate GPA of above 3.6 in order to qualify.

Graduate Assistant; CSU Sacramento, Sacramento, CA 2006-2008
I was responsible for not only delivering instructional material to students but for grading speeches and tracking grades for Presentational Speaking in the Organization for two semesters. This was under the supervision of master teachers in order to refine teaching and presentational skills. This work also required maintaining a 3.5 or better GPA.

Comm. Studies Lab Asst., Sacramento City College; Sacramento, CA - 2002-2004
I was responsible for tutoring and lab maintenance at the SCC campus which included helping students prepare for tests, proofreading assignments, and in some cases holding specialized tutoring or study sessions to assist remedial students.

District Apple Rep, Marketsource; Sacramento, CA - 2002-2003
I was responsible for maintaining in store displays for Apple retail partners. I was also responsible for training sales staff in new product information, sales strategies and talking points. IN addition if there were floor models that were in need of repair I was able to repair them because of my Desktop Certification.

Lead Mac Genius; Apple Computer Inc.; Buffalo, NY 2001-2002
I headed the service department, supervising a team of four technicians in repair work as well as coordinating customer service and advice offered at the “Genius Bar” in an Apple retail store.
